Six Weeks To Go

For those of you wondering about the house stuff… there are some updates. The seller generously agreed to all three of our objection terms! They will have the roof replaced (saves us around $2,000-3,000), the precarious tree has been removed (saves us $500-1,000), and the septic will be cleaned and inspected (saves us about $350 or more). I think we find out about the appraisal today. We also got locked in at a 5% interest rate, and if the national rate declines, we’ll be able to get a lower rate! It’s also really amazing to see how the Lord is providing the money we need for a down payment. Closing is only about 6 weeks away!

The infamous Bruce Wayne made his appearance in Colorado Springs. That’s right, we got to meet Michele’s boyfriend, who happens to share his name with Batman. What a cool guy! We’re all very happy for him and Michele. We all got together for some breakfast at Marigold’s.

At home, Micah looooves to play with Rocky. The cat will jump up while I’m holding Micah and try to sit on both our laps. Micah proceeds to ‘pet’ Rocky by grabbing chunks of fur. Rocky purrs and doesn’t seem to be phased by the fur-pulling. He actually seems to enjoy it!

Frankie also enjoys entertaining Micah, by hiding underneath his play gym. I think Frankie’s actually more entertained than Micah.

The transition to solid foods has been surprisingly smooth. So far, Micah enjoys all flavors I’ve thrown at him. He’s gotten to the point of anticipating the next bite, by kicking his legs and holding his mouth wide open while smiling and grunting (sometimes loudly babbling), while waiting for me to scoop out the next bite.

I love noticing the little idiosyncrasies he’s picked up from both Tony and me. There’s this thing that my Gramma, my Dad, and I all do: we always sit with our ankles crossed and rub our feet back and forth over each other. Micah does that ALL the time. He also sleeps with his ankles crossed sometimes. It kills me!
